January 2013

Kingzlee was asked to deliver the crown to Sam Chytka, the new Miss Rodeo Nebraska for her coronation in Hastings. Kingzlee was all over it! She modeled during dinner, the auction, and any other time I would let her go on stage-improptu. Ohhh boy!
We enjoyed a lot of time in the snow this winter!
We went to Steamboat skiing for a week with a bunch of friends, here is Kingzlee getting her boots and skis!
She didn't do real great the first day and didn't want to go back out after lunch but she finally did. Then the next day, she went to the next bunny hill and by day #3 she was riding chair lifts and day #4 she was up the gondola on the green runs!!!!
She loved the instructor she had the 3rd and 4th days, he was great! On day #3, she cried when I dropped her off because she didn't want to go to ski school....and at the end she cried because she didn't want to quit skiing!!!
The view from one of the decks on the house...complete with hot tub, outdoor fireplace, and amazing views of the valley!

 Day #1 of ski school!
Stuhrling with Daddy picking Kingzlee up from ski school

Skiing down the greens right by our house on the last day!

December 2012

In early December, we had our first experience with a bad ear infection. Poor little Stuhrling had a high fever and just wanted to sleep on us. Broke my heart and scared me all at once!

Kingzlee had fun decorating a gingerbread house at Lochland, Grandpa Jack decorated one as well!
After every kid suffering colds and ear infections, we were off to Vegas! Luckily the flight out there went fine!
While we were there, we were able to meet Dr Sher, our fertility Dr who helped us get the twins. We are so lucky that this man has used his God given talent to help others! The best part is that he gives the glory to the Lord!
Kingzlee was able to see her friend, Cactus Korkow again. They had so much fun together - I see big trouble in the future!!!!
With Grandma and Grandpa before our flight home. It was a bit more eventful than our flight there....Kingzlee had an upset stomach and the babies just wanted to play instead of nap. Lets just say, it isn't fun changing a 4 year old's dirty underwear in a bathroom on a plane during turbulence!!!!
We were able to see santa at Lochland-you can see how everyone felt about it!
 Fun times in the snow!
Pam and Jack's friends Christmas party-my Mom was able to join us
Grandma and Grandpa gave the kids a gator for Christmas-I can already tell who is going to be the trouble maker in this family!!!!
Kingz was excited to get pink spurs and a belt buckle from santa!
The babies kind of figured out how to open gifts-watch out next year!!!

The Children's museum had a "countdown to noon-year" event on Dec 31, Kingzlee and Lyla had a big time!!!!

November 2012

Kingzlee and Justin camped out in the tent in our yard one evening. Kingzlee had her dolls, Hermes catalog (Dad is in trouble), flashlight and headlamp packed. Concho stayed with them in the tent and was already tuckered out as you can see! I slept with the window open and it was a cold, quiet night and I kept waking up to coyotes howling....so at 3 am, I finally talked them into coming inside! Justin didn't argue with me too much as he was sleeping on the hard ground so Kingzlee could have the mat!
Someone is getting adventurous! Still not walking yet though! And yes, we had a cage in our living room, the only way we could keep our sanity and the kids safe-they really didn't seem to mind it and kept themselves well entertained in there.
Kingzlee's second visit to the dentist. She was really brave....until it came time for the x-rays and she said it hurt. So she cried.
Justin and his hunting always stresses me out....now there are two of them! Kingzlee fell asleep as soon as they made it to the deer stand and missed the doe that walked right past them!
I finally started finger food in November. It worried me out as I felt like we needed two adults watching them. Kruzzy didn't like it at first, until I gave her banana bread....which she loved!!!
And Stuhrling, who usually did great with finger food, decided this was the best way to eat banana bread!
We went to the last home Husker game of the season, some friends met us from California so it was good to see them! We went to Lincoln a day early and had the babies one year photos taken with smash cakes. It was hilarious! Stuhrling crawled right to the cake and put his hands in it immediately. Kruzann was a little more timid but got the hang of it real quick! It made for a fun surprise in their diapers later!
We took the kids to Morrill Hall the morning of the game, Kingzlee loved all of the dinosaur bones! Once again, I didn't make it to the game, due to my knee. Walking around was still exhausting at this point and I was doing up to 9 hours of PT a week! uggg
FIRST BIRTHDAYS!!!!!! Birthday girl....
 Birthday boy!!!!
We just celebrated at home and then with my family the day after Thanksgiving. Later, we went to dinner with Justin's family at Lochland. I love this photo!!!! Kruzann has vomit (she didn't like the quinoa I made her) all down her front and Stuhrling was not pleased! Hey, at least Kingzlee had fun!

We had Thanksgiving at the lake!!!!!! It was sooooo great! My cousin came with his kids and Kingzlee loved having them to play with! Justin's family also came and my sister Kristi and her husband were back so it was perfect!
After the football game the next day, we took a walk because it was so nice outside. Here we are making fun of Kingzlee and her pose that she learned from the rodeo queens!
That same weekend, we picked out our Christmas tree...
 The finished product....ready for Christmas!!!!!

October 2012

The babies really started to play with one another in their cribs, so as I was laying in bed feeling sorry for myself since I couldn't walk without crutches, I was well entertained during nap times! About this time, Kingzlee gave up her naps.
We did make it to one Husker football game in October. The kids, Grandma Shar and I stayed back in the hotel and didn't go to the actual game. A lot of my family attended the game so it was fun to see everyone! We also attended a couple HC football games-the kids loved it!
 Getting more mobile!!!
On Grandma's birthday, I had a Dr appt in Holdrege so Kingzlee went with me and we met Grandma to celebrate. Kingzlee had wrapped up something for her, and I didn't know until Grandma opened it. An empty band aid box with a toy ring inside. So funny!
For Halloween, Kingzlee was a police officer and the babies were convicts. Even Concho had a convict costume. Right before this, Sage (the dog) came back to us. We had given her to someone who worked cattle daily thinking it would be a better fit but after 5 months, they decided she wasn't working, so we took her back. We just pretend she went to 'camp' for a while. She did come back better mannered and is great with the kids, still neurotic, but great with the kids! Anyway, on Halloween, we went to a party some of Kingzlee's friends had then trick or treating in Grandma and Grandpa Osborne's neighborhood. I was off crutches by this time but still couldn't make it too far limping around in my brace!

September 2012

We started the month going to the first Husker football game of the season. Again, I think it was the hottest day of the year! Tom and Nancy were kind enough to ask us to sit in their (air conditioned) box.
Kingzlee started pre school!!!!!! She goes Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am-11:30 am. In addition, she started dance again (Monday evenings) and gymnastics (Tuesday mornings). It keeps her nice and busy! By this time, the babies were on a solid schedule of two naps a day 9-11 and 3-5. So nice to have routine!!! They were also both crawling-Stuhrling started about a month before Kruzann.
We had to have our annual Husker Harvest Days photo! The weekend prior, I went to Beaver Creek with my Mom and our friends Marcia and Connie for a little mother/daughter trip! It was a nice get away (3 nights). Marcia and Connie's condo is beautiful and it was so relaxing. During this time, Kingzlee had her first sleepover at Grandma Pam and Grandpa Jack's house and Justin also took her to the Pitzer horse sale (the babies stayed home with the babysitter).
Kingzlee attended her first "horse show". This same weekend was a big weekend at Hastings College so we stayed in town to enjoy the festivities, the best part was seeing Kingzlee's babysitter, Betsy, be crowned homecoming queen for HC!!!!! Back to the horse show.....it was a little trail course and Kingzlee went through it a couple times on Beau and did a great job! She even "won" her little division and came home with $20 in winnings (which she put in our safe as soon as she got home). Meanwhile, I decided I would ride the old stick of glue and he about killed me! I asked him to lope one last time as we were finishing the course and he tripped and fell ON me!!!! Luckily he didn't roll all of the way over and thank goodness it wasn't Kingzlee on his back! I hopped right up after he got off of my leg and the first step I took my knee kind of hurt but I walked out and even carried a kid for a while afterward. By the time I got home, I could barely walk and the next day, and MRI showed a torn ACL and both meniscus. I had surgery 9 days later and thus started a long, long, fall of rehab.
Getting love from everyone before surgery. I was not able to carry the babies for 6 weeks. It is quite a blur. Along with this, I quit breastfeeding-the babies were 10 months but I was really hoping to make it to a year. A huge bump in the road of life but again, we are thankful that it wasn't worse!

August 2012

Well, I am sooooo far behind on this blog but really want to keep it going as it is just a good "scrapbook" for our family. So, in order to get caught up, I am just going to do a few pics each month with highlights (lowlights) to get us up to April 2013!!! Here goes August!

The addition on Grandma Shar's cabin was finally finished the first of August. Or at least finished enough so we could stay there.  So spent the first part of the month helping her decorate, cleaning out, arranging, moving furniture, etc, etc. It was fun!!!!!

Justin went hunting in Alaska for caribou for a couple weeks in August so the kids and I just stayed at the lake with Grandma. It was fun! While Grandma said it was quiet after we left, I think it also had to be relaxing! It is a wild bunch-those Osborne kids!!!!! Above is a pic of Justin with the kids before he left.
The babies became more and more mobile-Stuhrling even figured out how to use his sister as a step stool! They started to fight over toys at this time which was hilarious to watch and I know only the tip of the iceberg!
When Daddy returned home (safely and with a dead caribou), we spent time outside with the horses.
Kingzlee turned FOUR!!!!! She wanted a tie dye saddle pad for her birthday and was excited when she got it!!!
We had her party at the lake again complete with slides, water balloons, boating, tubing, and piƱata. The following day was her family party and much more laid back!!!!! The week after her birthday, Grandma Shar, the kids and I attended the state fair on the hottest day of the year and Labor Day weekend, Kingzlee enjoyed the Oregon Trail Rodeo.
